  • Amazing! Thank you! My heart is so sad for my Mormon friends who are so deceived.

How I wish that Glenn Beck would apply his detail-seeking, truth-driven, question-asking investigation into this video and the issue of the Book of Abraham. I use to be an active member of the LDS church and I NEVER heard anything about this. I do not see how anyone can be aware of the problem of the Book of Abraham and continue to believe in Joseph Smith and his teachings.
  • I love this video, it shows many truths and some half truths, but then again; my question is: what is faith? Did God command Noah to build an Ark? Did God command Moses to part the red sea? I believe he did, did God call Joseph Smith to do a great work and translate ancient record, I am absolutely sure that God did call Joseph Smith to be His prophet in these last days. I know that the record of Abraham is accurate. And I am glad that there are so many of the saints searching for truth where ever it may be found. I believe the evidences that were given in the video are correct, I honestly don't know how it was all translated except that it was by the gift and power of God.

Now I do not understand how one non-mormon believing christian can say that they have absolute ground to stand on when they say that God created the Earth in six earth days; that is a load of crap. It was, however done through six periods. Now, for you to say that it is impossible for Christ to have risen from the dead, yet say it is possible to have an unlearned man translate an ancient text! Well, I think that you have a surprise coming. Jesus Christ did rise from the dead, and he has redeemed us from the fall, and Christ Jesus, or Jehovah, has also given Joseph Smith power to translate and bring about the Book of Abraham unto us, so that we can have the wonderful key elements of Christ's and God the Father's true character revealed to us. I can't be more amazed at the enabling power that God gives his children to understand Him better, and draw closer to him. And by the way, did not Jesus Christ say to his disciples "For he that is not against us is on our part!" Mark 9:38-40
  • I think that you might have missed the point. Joseph Smith did not translate an actual lost papyrus containing writings by Abraham. The idea is completely ludacris. First of all, if Abraham had written a book don't you think that it might have been included in the old testament narrative? I mean, wouldn't it have been kind of a big deal? Moreover, do you think that of all the people in all the world to find this long lost book by Abraham of all the people in the world that it would end up in the hands of Joseph Smith? Seriously? Wasn't "discovering" the big, heavy B.M. enough? Another thing, do you think that you could take something written in Ancient Egyptian to Thomas Monson and have him magically translate it? Lets try it. Lets put the modern day Prophet in a room with an ancient Egyptian Papyrus and watch him as he puts seer stones in a hat and tries to translate them. But, seriously though, I have some of Adam's writing. It's carved into a stone and i'm the only one who can read it for you but ill translate it for you if you convince everybody that I should be the governor.
  • obviously, you are full of it. what makes you think with so much doubt. if you have same questions and ask them in term of doubting Christ you can say the same thing...o yeah Muslims and Atheist do that to all Christianity too..."How can anyone believe in a man that is dead for over 200 years...and never have meet him?"...."How can we believe that he raise the dead, and really healed the sick?"...and "how can we believe that the bible is even true, when it was formed by a group of people voting on which books should be included into the bible????" maybe you should ask yourself those questions before you can criticize the BofM...maybe even pray to God for an Answer.(James 1:5-6)...or is that not was Christians believe in ???
  • He should ask those questions and if he cannot reconcile them he should not believe in the faith. We asked of the Book of Abraham and it was clearly fabricated. Joseph Smith said he had the ability to translate ancient Egyptian and spent thousands of his followers dollars to obtain the scrolls but the Book of Abraham is not a translation of the scrolls. For this reason Joseph Smith loses significant amounts of credibility.

The books of the Bible were compiled by the authority they already had and their connection to Jesus' closest followers. They were already "cannon" before they were compiled together as the Bible. I would challenge you to find a book that should have been included in the Bible, or a book that lacks credibility to be included.

    "Test everything" 1 Thessalonians 5:21
"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." 1 Timothy 4:16
Regarding the church in Berea (these were Christians described as more noble for seeking the truth): "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures everyday to see if what Paul said was true." Acts 17:11
